What is your motivation for engaging in HIV cure and remission research?

ART suppresses the viral load remarkably, however ART must be taken daily for lifetime, necessitating the need for prospective studies for HIV eradication. Currently, we are working towards the care and support for the HIV infected patients in India. My personal interest and motivation is to work in this area to save many lives that are suffering from this dangerous disease and give to them better restorative treatment.

What is your current area of research?

Presently I am working as a Research Associate in YRGCARE. My research interests are, during therapy, why some patients discordantly respond to the ART therapy and show less or no increase in CD4 count. If we found the answer for this question we can be able to find the new way to cure the HIV infection, as we know the secrets behind the CD4 cell count rise. and Ccurrently, I am working on the characterization of Early HIV infection (EHI) and this would focus on viral & immunological factors involved in the disease progression and control.
