IAS Educational Fund Meeting – Mexico
The International AIDS Society (IAS) is proud to announce that the series of IAS Educational Fund meetings – Translating Science to End HIV in Latin America and the Caribbean – were held on 17, 18 and 21 April 2018 in Mexico City, Mexico.

During this three-day meeting more than 125 experts in the HIV response in Latin America and the Caribbean, including policy makers, clinicians and community representatives, gathered to discuss the latest science and question how that information impacts the epidemic in the region.
Key issues discussed included HIV prevention, policy implementation for PrEP and PEP, ways to integrate HIV into national global health systems in Latin America and the Caribbean, barriers and opportunities faced by youth and service delivery to transgender populations and sex workers in the region.
Participants also issued an appeal for governments, lawmakers and stakeholders to adopt a call to action for the translation of HIV research into local policy and practice in Latin America and the Caribbean.
To make content from IAS conferences accessible to Spanish speakers, the IAS Educational Fund is happy to provide several sessions in Spanish on this page.
