Applications for the second round of the IAS Educational Fund Press Fellowship are now open. Taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, on 30 November – 4 December, the press fellowship aims to advance on-the-ground media coverage of the human and community impacts of implementing key HIV–related science and research. Applications will close on Sunday, 27 October, at 23:59 CET.
The press fellowship offers selected journalists the opportunity to gain first-hand experience by visiting implementers of HIV programmes and their clients through exclusively tailored field trips. Additionally, the press fellowship will provide the opportunity to attend ICASA, IAS Educational Fund workshops prior to ICASA and meet with scientific experts to gain deep knowledge of HIV-related issues at the country level.
A group of ten international, regional and local journalists interested in HIV and HIV-related issues will be selected to travel to Rwanda. We welcome applications from journalists across all platforms, including traditional and digital. International and regional journalists will receive full travel, lodging and a daily stipend, while local journalists will receive travel and a daily stipend due to proximity to the fellowship activity.
The IAS Educational Fund Press Fellowship was developed from the IAS Educational Fund, which provides educational and training opportunities to frontline HIV professionals. The fellowship programme is made possible through an independent educational grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
