What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

Being HIV positive since 2007, it is my wish to be part of HIV cure advocacy. Zambia has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world and there is a need to develop an HIV cure; as cure activists, we must engage the government to invest in HIV cure research. My other inspiration comes from wanting to know how the case of the Berlin patient will help researchers come up with a cost-effective functional cure or eradication cure.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goals are to:

  1. Raise awareness on HIV cure research among people living with HIV and service providers in Zambia.
  2. Engage the government so that it can invest in HIV cure research in Zambia.
