What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

I like to treat people in a timely manner when they present with a co-morbidity and HIV is not so advanced because they have a very good prognosis. In recent years, people have had a very good quality of life with their treatment and they have fewer and fewer side-effects.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

In addition to seeing patients in the hospital and consultations, I would like to carry out research. I am interested in all HIV topics, in particular the viral reservoir and cognitive deterioration. Little research is carried out in Mexico. Much of the knowledge we have is based on studies carried out on the population of the United States and on other continents. I would like to contribute with research in our population.
