What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

I feel inspired because HIV involves every aspect of human health (including physical, mental, social and cultural) both individually and collectively. This makes it such a complex, challenging and exciting field. I feel motivated by the fact that so much has been done already, but so much remains to be done and so much effort is still needed to provide an effective response to the HIV epidemic.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goals are to: get involved in clinical research to increase knowledge of current HIV health issues and areas of uncertainty; improve the quality of care of people living with HIV in my region; and understand and address the specific problems and barriers some key populations have regarding adherence to treatment and control of their HIV.

The IAS promotes the use of non-stigmatizing, people-first language. The translations are all automated in the interest of making our content as widely accessible as possible. Regretfully, they may not always adhere to the people-first language of the original version.
