What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

I think the host-HIV relationship is complex and fascinating to study and try to understand. Furthermore, living in a country that has suffered the most from this pandemic inspires me to want to make a difference and help in any small way I can. The prospect of one day being able to cure people of this disease is exciting and definitely worthy of pursuit!

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

Change is never made in leaps and bounds but rather in small incremental steps. My goal is to continue to carry out ethical and important research to contribute to the overarching purpose of trying to understand the correlates of protective immunity to HIV-1, which is integral in the design of vaccines, therapeutics and future cure strategies.
