What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

After seeing that most young people in my island district of Likoma are affected by HIV and AIDS, I decided to take part in this programme so that I could be a civic educator to young people. Likoma has about 22,000 people, mostly young people. It is involved in the fishing industry, and there is sexual activity among young people. This inspired me to involve myself in HIV and AIDS programmes.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

As a young person, I believe that I have what it takes to bring change to my society. My goals are to reach young people at an extensive scale. As they are living close to Lake Malawi, these young people are vulnerable. Many in my island district are affected by HIV and AIDS. So, I would like to continue what I am already doing.
