What inspires you to work in the HIV field?

Working in the field of HIV is always inspiring, with positive changes regarding the protection of the rights of healthcare clients, as well as changes taking place in society in relation to people living with HIV. It is also inspiring to support and help migrants access antiretroviral therapy. I wish to inspire systemic change to reduce stigma and discrimination. This includes regular training sessions for health professionals, as well as civil society education, on protecting rights against discrimination.

What are your goals as an IAS change maker?

My goals are to:

  1. Change the attitude of the general population towards people living with HIV.
  2. Increase the capacity of civil society to protect their rights.
  3. Advocate for systemic change to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV.
  4. Advocate for the development of guidelines and programmes for the decriminalization of transmission of HIV.
