Remko van Leeuwen, MD, PhD, is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in infectious diseases, spanning both scientific and commercial environments. He is the Strategic Advisor and a senior staff member of Aidsfonds, a Dutch civil society organization, where he oversees the grant programmes targeted at finding a cure for HIV. Furthermore, he is Vice President of the BEAM Alliance, an association of 52 biotech companies in Europe that proposes and supports policies and incentives in antimicrobial research and development. He is a Board member of AMR-Global, a Dutch public-private partnership that tackles antimicrobial resistance in low- and middle-income countries. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Public Health Emergencies (ACPHE) and the Joint Industrial Cooperation Forum of HERA, the pandemic preparedness authority, both part of the European Commission. Remko is the founder and CEO of Survivx, a Dutch biotech company that develops therapeutic solutions for AMR and sepsis.
