KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Kenya

Eunice Nduati is a research scientist based at the KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Kilifi, Kenya, and a principal investigator with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) – ADVANCE programme. Her primary focus is to understand host cellular and molecular immune mechanisms important in the generation of antibodies with relevance for HIV vaccine development. Her work also focuses on understanding population immune baselines and factors that may contribute to differences observed in immune responses to vaccines and secondary infections in African populations.

Eunice is also involved in establishing immunogenicity testing frameworks for next-generation HIV vaccine analysis. These include conventional approaches (antibody binding and T cell IFNg ELISPOT and non-conventional approaches, such as antigen-specific single-cell characterization platforms. Eunice is keen on scientific capacity building in Africa and is involved in student supervision and mentorship.
