Mayara Secco is an infectious diseases doctor and PhD student at the Evandro Chagas National Institute of Infectious Diseases-Oswaldo Cruz Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She works in both clinical assistance and research, focusing on HIV treatment and prevention, sexually transmitted infections, gender and health. More recently, she was highly involved in the local response to the 2022 mpox multinational outbreak.
