Sheryl Zwerski is the Director of the Prevention Sciences Program (PSP) at the Division of AIDS (DAIDS) at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). She directs the scientific, logistical and fiscal operations of a multimillion-dollar global scientific portfolio of basic, preclinical and clinical HIV prevention studies, paediatric HIV treatment and cure studies, and maternal and paediatric TB studies for the Prevention Sciences Program at NIAID. For more than 35 years, she has been involved in research of HIV treatment and prevention, including landmark studies, such as HPTN 052. She is a key decision maker and strategic planner for use of the resources of PSP, including grants, contracts and clinical trial networks. Sheryl has responsibility for ensuring rigorous scientific study development and sound outcomes for studies supported within the programme and is part of the executive committees of two global HIV clinical trials networks.
