
Shannon Fentiman is the Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services, Minister for Women and Ministerial Champion for the Torres Strait. Shannon was first elected to the Queensland Parliament as the Member for Waterford in 2015 and has since served as the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, Minister for Employment and Small Business, Minister for Training and Skills Development, and Minister for Communities, Child Safety, Women and Youth.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws and worked as an employment lawyer before being elected to Parliament. She also volunteered for local community organizations, including the Centre Against Sexual Assault and the Centre for Women in Logan.
Shannon is passionate about ensuring that Queenslanders have access to healthcare, no matter where they live, and is a champion for women’s health and mental health and well-being. As Minister for Women, she is a fierce advocate for gender equality and advancing the rights of women and girls in Queensland.
